Looking for a 2-night stay in an onsen ryokan (private, in-room onsen) in August on our way from Kyoto to Tokyo. Happy to travel for about 3 hours. Hakone area, Izu, and Kanazawa all seem likely possibilities. Would like to get into the mountains for hopefully cooler weather. High-caliber, in room dining is a priority.

Suggestions in those areas? Suggestions in an area I missed?

If we go with Hakone, is there a clear winner between ginyu and yamanochaya?
