Need to be at the Hyatt each day, just prefer Hilton and not staying at event hotels. AM Marriott gold, but find Hilton status more useful. The Hilton and Curio appear to be half mile easy walks. Also see embassy. Having a tolerable restaurant/bar within easy access is a priority.
The Canopy is by far the nicest Hilton property in the area, and has a lot going on around it since it sits just south of Fells Point and Little Italy. Personally I like the walk from that property to the Hyatt / Hilton area on the west side of the Inner Harbor (scenic, and May might actually be decent weather), so that would probably be my choice.
If you care more about proximity, the Hilton is absolutely *fine*. It is just a normal big conference / sporting event location Hilton. There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever and I have had good stays there. From there the closest area of interest would be down in Federal Hill, about a 20 minute (scenic) walk.
