I'm looking at MEL/HKG J and HKG/LHR F - currently a dummy booking in Jan in advance of planned booking for Feb 2024. I know there's availability on both these flights on 19/1 (CX178 leaves Mel early hours, around 16hrs layover then F 23:55 CX251 from HKG).

At the bottom of the multi city booking it's showing it's coming up as 107,600 points (which would be an amazing deal!)

So going to multi-city, selecting "First", accepting business for the first leg. But after I've selected both flights it says "Redemption class Y is not valid on this flight date". This itinerary can be booked on Qantas Frequent Flyer...only for double the points.

Does this mean this itinerary can't be booked? Does it go against Asia Miles rules? Or should it be fixed with contacting AM directly?

Would want to know this in advance as I was going to transfer Amex points to Asia Miles if this looks a valid itinerary and availability in Feb is good...

Even BA28 in J on the second flight also brings up the Redemption class Y error message.
