Just boarded our plane in AUS and experienced a first. The GA wasn’t scanning—or even checking—boarding passes. Simply asking each pax to state their seat number to her. Here we are 20 minutes later, and chaos ensues when it turns out that two pax boarded the wrong plane and there aren’t enough seats for everybody. The FAs seemed incredulous that this was allowed to happen and I have to say that I had the same reaction.
