For as long as I've been flying IB OLCI has always worked for me for flights to the US but never when flying back from the US. That's never been an issue for me when flying in either direction on AA or BA.
I just checked in online for BOS-Mad flight on Saturday. There is no square QR code like was provided when I checked in Mad-CDG(separate tickets). The downloaded, what they call "boarding card"(no option for apple wallet) has a rectangular code in the upper right hand corner, but I'm not sure it's a scannable QR code. I'm pretty sure this is what I had a few years ago and did not work at security. I was sent back to check in to get a physical boarding pass. I will go to check in tomorrow to be safe.
