That is odd. I've always thought that you just needed U availability for that segment, which the screenshot above shows. In fact, I've done that in the past - spotted award inventory in biz (which I've assumed to mean U availability) and upgraded that segment.
jjakobv84, I wonder if there is another reason why you can't upgrade... like some logic in place to prevent some pax from upgrading while keeping the U inventory for others.
When you said that you couldn't upgrade, how exactly did you try?
So online, in my booking when I hit the 'Upgrade' button it's simply showing as not available. I then asked them via live chat and they said they couldn't see the award inventory. Then called them and she said she couldn't see any available seats.
