Just in case this might help anyone else out,
surikatina 's advice to head to Twitter was spot on! It took a different sessions of going back and forth, and weirdly the representative on Twitter said it can't be done but then the next morning I woke up and got an email that the dates were changed and the appropriate number of points were deposited back into my account. Having the Hyatt representative reach out to the hotel definitely made the difference.
