Byporten is at the beginning of Karl Johannsgate, the main shopping street, which runs west-northwest from the railway station. The Royal Palace is at the other end of KJgate. Edderkoppen is a few blocks north and a few blocks east of the palace grounds and KNA is a block south of the SW corner of the palace grounds and a few blocks north of the shopping mall Aker Brygge and the ferry docks. I got the smallest room at the Byporten as a Gold, larger room at the Edderkoppen and large and nicer room at the KNA. The Byporten is right in the middle of things, the KNA just off the popular Aker Brygge, and the Edderkoppen off the main path, a few blocks north of the theatre district and KJgate. I liked KNA best, Byporten least, but it is very convenient.
