Dang, that YHZ-CDG route sure is cursed. First MAX grounding, then COVID, now this.

Took YYZ-YHZ-CDG on a 737-700 just after the MAX grounding, and looked forward to taking to doing it again one day. I like to fly inexpensively and comfort comes last . WS was one of the few TATL carriers that didn't charge obscene prices for a one-way, making it easy to create my own open-jaw with another airline for my return departing from a city WS didn't serve. And allowed me to chew up some hard-for-me-to-spend Westjet dollars.

For a non-direct flight, connecting at YHZ was as good as it gets: get off plane, and leave from the same quiet gate after a leg stretch and fairly good airport (sea)food. yyz-cdg vs yyz-yhz-cdg is just an extra 2.4% in distance. No queuing for takeoff at YHZ in the evening. Limited food+beverage service made for a very quiet overnight flight.
