I just called IHG about this property's canx policy. Talk about confusing. They couldnt even give me a straight answer. They said 'oh you'll get your points back if you cancel inside the 30 days'. I asked where in the policy does it even say that??
Then they told me they saw an amount I'd be charged if I canx inside 30 days on a points resi.....$1560. I asked where in the heck they came up with that number? They said 'oh its only on internal reservation information, you cannot see that.'
At this point I started to get a bit irritated. The whole policy seems like shenanigan's. I am going to check more into this and will post back with updates.
I will probably cancel my res if I get some bs vague response from the hotel itself.
