Short answer, yes in my experience.

To make it clear, I am talking about premium economy like United's Premium Plus, not the economy seats with slightly more pitch (Economy Plus). The wider seats are much more comfortable than anything in the economy cabin. Another benefit is being in a separate, smaller cabin and somewhat isolated from the antics of the basic economy crowd in the back of the plane.

Now that I travel only for leisure, on longer legs I don't fly unless I can book into premium economy or better.
