I think I had that happen a few years ago. Qatar airways gave me a free stopover hotel night at the Intercontinental Doha. I sent them my IHG number, they attached it to the reservation and I believe I could not see it as well under "my bookings". due to a technical of the QR plane in NRT I flew home a day later without the opportunity to have the stopover in DOH. Still I received points and a stay from the IC Doha - On the other hand side - the Japanese are famous for following rules very strictly. So I don't hope for any acknowledgment of my diamond status
