I'm 6'5", and I'm not a big fan of the premium plus seat. Like others have said, the footrest is awkward and basically useless, and once someone reclines it gets fairly claustrophobic (at least for the non-bulkhead seats; I've never been in a bulkhead premium plus seat). For long haul international, if I can't fly in business, I'm adding my vote to an exit row seat in E+. Another bonus that hasn't been mentioned is if the flight isn't too full you might have a chance of having a seat open next to you in E+. Obviously you need to get lucky, but in premium plus you're almost guaranteed a full cabin since people try to upgrade themselves in various ways. I'd personally take a window seat in an exit row with the middle seat empty over premium plus for a long flight (just make sure to dress warm since many of the exit doors aren't insulated that well and it can get cold).
I am not quite as large as bdh, but I feel the same way. I have not experienced the Premium Plus soft product, but have flown the seats on a 777 a few times IAD SFO when they are sold as economy plus. Bulkhead E+ has more leg room. It's also less of a coffin--the movability of the armrest means you have more ways to adjust your weight and butt to keep comfortable. Premium Plus is MUCH better at keeping you away from your seat mate, but I found it less comfortable overall, and stopped aiming for those seats after a couple tries. If you are travelling as a family, E+ would allow your son to lift the armrest between seats and you all can shift around as needed to maintain comfort.
Of course, business will be far superior to either economy product.

Domestic F is better than PP because the current F seats don't enclose you to the degree the PP seats do, while still allowing more room to move around and be separated from your seatmate. The soft product that comes with F (which is superior to PP) also makes a difference on a daytime domestic flight where sleeping is not the goal. On a redeye flight, though, I would take 7A with an open 7B over any F seat, every time. (7F is superior though, because 7D/E don't open until 24 hours before departure)
