My Anecdotal:
Ms AMFlyer and I do a LGA to DEN long weekend ski trip every January. I try to book on a WN non stop for the free luggage. Normally an evening Out and morning return.
2021 LGA to DEN Cancelled. After much time on hold, we got on a connection the next day. DEN to LGA 1 hr late. Other airline's LGA operations were not affected.
2022 LGA to DEN Cancelled. Rebooked on connection through Atlanta. Got to DEN really late. Had to wait an hour at luggage claim to be told that our skis were in FLL. Skis delivered with much drama 48 hrs later. DEN to LGA on time.
No other airlines affected.
2023 She refuses to get on a Southwest flight. I follow similarly timed WN flights just to see...
LGA to DEN on UA, an hour and a half late. Similar WN flight; similar timing. Return, AA on B6 metal, Departed 1/2 hour late, arrived on time. Similar WN flight cancelled.
She has the moral high ground right now.
There were 2 WN pilots on our hotel shuttle. One said to another that he was actually hoping to wake up to a flight cancelled notification. That really didn't sit well with us.
On non-stop short hauls, yo-yoing between cities on the west coast or intra-Texas, I think they are fine. Anything over 500 miles, or a connection, I'm booking elsewhere.
