As noted, if the price hasn’t increased, you could easily cancel the first set of tickets and book the new set together. If you have sufficient extra miles, you could first book the new set of tickets and then cancel the first set. That way you won’t risk the price going up.

I know you ran into issues booking online and thus you having to call it in. It might work fine this time so you could give it a try online.
