Hello everyone, want to share my positive experience on how to book AS metal award flight with KF miles.

You need to search on three sites - Alaska, BA, and AA and confirm that the flight is visible and bookable on all three of them. After that write down the flight info - number, date/time departure/arrival airports.

After that go to SQ site and open the chat window, log on to your KF account, go to Contact Us section and select Chat with a live agent and wait until someone will come online - you might wait 1 min, and it might be 1h wait.

There is no sound/notification given when someone comes from that side, just there is one line that 'because it is live chat only 3 min will be given to you to respond'. You also need to make sure that your session with SQ site does not timeout.

Once someone will come online tell them that

• You want to book an award flight with your KF miles on Alaska and say that Alaska flights are not bookable online
• You must mention that Alaska is a partner airline but it is NOT a Star Alliance partner (you might want to repeat it a couple of times)
• Give the flight info - AS flight number, date/time, departure/arrival airport

So if you are lucky to get a knowledgeable agent who knows that AS is not Star Alliance and knows that AS flights are bookable via SQ - perfect. Otherwise, prepare to do HUCA.

Be prepared that you might spend the whole day or two trying to reach someone who is knowledgeable. Also, my luck was higher with chat compared to live call - three agents told me that either Alaska is not Star Alliance so it is not bookable, or I need to go to Alaska website and book my award flight there (sic!) or giving me only United flights despite me several times telling that he needs to look for AS flight. With chat, I was luckier - it took only the second try and the whole booking was done in 30 min.
