Nah, just something more than the usual "I was treated poorly and the server's skin color was different from mine therefore racism".
After reading these posts, I'm very sure it's racism, thank you all for confirming for me.
I already posted about that I do know that service is Europe is substandard compared to the US. I pointed out that the waiter was outright rude to us, did not greet us but when other guests enter the lounge, it was a big hello, in English and Spanish. I'm from Southern California, I know enough Spanish to get by. I observed his interactions with each guest as he served them and they entered the lounge.
I would never go to the manager unless it was warranted. I don't want to hurt someone's lively hood because I'm making an assumption that they did something wrong. It really does take a lot for me to complain. Even in bad meals at a restaurant, I don't complain, what's the point, just don't go back again and it's not the servers fault, so leave a decent tip.
The main reason I'm trying to bring this up with IHG or whoever is because I can defend myself. My English is good enough to file complaints and I don't want this happening to others that won't or might not defend themselves, simple as that.
