Edit : NM. Apparently there are 2 versions of the flight. So I guess at the time of booking I should make sure it has PE on all legs of the trip.
United sells two separate products, Economy Plus (extra legroom only) and Premium Plus (extra legroom, wider seat, upgraded on-board experience). Economy Plus is available throughout the fleet*, whereas Premium Plus is only available on certain routes (almost, but not quite, all routes routinely served by widebody aircraft).

* excepting the CRJ-500 CRJ-200 a 50-seat aircraft with a total of zero comfortable seats.
