All my RTWs have been using paid, not award tickets, and all have been with Oneworld and none have started/ended in the US. For the paid tickets, prices vary greatly depending on where the trip begins and ends. What happens if you don't use the last leg of a RTW? Say I am based in the USA and buy a one way ticket to Europe to start the RTW, then end my trip back in the USA. Will there be any sort of penalty for missing the USA-EU leg of the RTW ticket?
