If you cannot find a decent place in Manhattan with suitable bedding at a suitable price, I would take a look at the Hilton Home2 Suites in Long Island City, Queens. They have rooms with two beds and a sleeper sofa available for your dates. Price is about $275-280/night, taxes included. About a four-minute walk to the nearest subway station.
