Leaving out of SJU on an AS-ticketed flight, AA asked for $ for my checked bag. I showed my MVP One World Ruby status and they let it slide.

Given that Puerto Rico is pretty far from Seattle, I might have been the first Alaska elite checking in for an AA flight at that station.
