Had a very opposite check-in and upgrade experience than you: they were selling standard suites day-of, but we must have been interacting with the surliest staff member at check in as our polite inquiry about an upgrade, was met with a blank stare, and a "computer says no." Otherwise, we also enjoyed the property, but would've change our "commute" pattern to be more similar to yours. Our itinerary ultimately had us going back and forth a couple times during the day and that proved tiring and cumbersome.
strange. Our checkin guy was quite friendly. I agree that commuting back and forth several times wouldn’t be fun. Thankfully 2 of the 3 days were weekend so it wasn’t bad. During the week it took quite a bit longer. We did it just once per day. When we were back that was it.
