Boarding passes for both of us stated One World Sapphire in the lower right hand corner. Agent acknowledged our status but the system would not allow her to waive the fee. Even the supervisor couldn't help. This is the first time we had this happen. We did get a complimentary upgrade to first class at the gate, though! Would you submit receipts for refund to AA or Alaska?
Submit a refund request to AA. Include scans of your receipt for the baggage charge, as well as your boarding pass showing your OWS status. I'm really surprised that a supervisor was unable to override the computer in this case.
