I even used it for all groc and dine for 3% even though I have/had other cards that would cover 5% but, again, to meet the SUB (or offer) spend. Then, just to make sure I met the SUB (or given offer), I may have to spend in 1% categories such as insurance/utilities (normally would get 3% with my AOD). Then, I would get offers monthly, the first one even in my SUB period as mentioned. Often something like spend $1000 in <these 30 days> and get a $45 statement credit. Again, I try to direct the 5% (gas) and 3% (groc/dine) first but if it gets close to the end of the 30 days, I would pay a 1% bill with it to reach the $1000 spend. All offers come via e-mail. Like you, I have never seen a single offer in the Offers tab on the SYW card website. It says something like 'This is where offers will be shown when you have them'. But nada so far. All e-mail. I hope that helps. Do you have the Sears card or the SYW?
I have the SYW card. Yea, I did my spending similar to yours. The first three months, the card was my primary gas, groceries, and dining card. I even dumped on some 1% insurance bills ($800 worth of it) onto the card as well. I dumped enough that by the 2nd month I completed the sub, but I didn't get the sub credit until the 3rd month, which I still used the card for gas to use up the credit. starting from the 4th month, my spending dropped dramatically down to 3 small transactions at groceries stores per month only to get the $3 SYW points. Btw, are you subscribed to those sears and SYW emails? I'm wondering if I should unsubscribe from those emails. The only thing stopping me from unsubscribing is my fear that it would screw up my chances of getting offers so I put up with daily Sears and SYW email.
