Yes, they are a major PITA to deal with in this regard. I have given up when this happened to me.
The only people who can help is Iberia Plus support, and there is no way to reach them directly. Especially not in languages other than Spanish.

Thanks - it's a week tomorrow since I DM'd them on twitter. They say they have contacted IB+ customer service but I have followed up my DM twice and was told I should hear back "in a few days". I will continue to follow up but after a week of nothing I am feeling stonewalled, like they are going to keep stalling me.....
