F Dinner

The usual westbound lunch/dinner menu, with selected items bolded:

Small plates - Seared tuna or Roasted baby beets
Seasonal greens - with citrus mint or balsamic vinaigrette
Soup - Sweet Potato & cauliflower
Mains - Beef brisket, Achiote chicken, Ranchero seared shrimp, Artichoke ravioli
Desserts - Ice cream sundae, Gourmet cheese board, Sticky toffee pudding

Interestingly, the pre-departure bubbly was served in a stemmed champagne glass, but only stemless glasses for the flight. In addition, the first two courses were served on a tray, rather than placed on the tray table individually.

The tuna was chewy, which was surprising. My partner did not get a choice for the starter and ended up with the beets, which he figured it was due to his lack of AA status. Everything else was pretty tasty - the ravioli was a good choice, and the portion was probably more than needed. I had to stop to save room for the delicious sticky toffee pudding.

The purser's service was great, who will be moving to CLT following SFO's FA base closure.

The wine selections were:

Bubbly - Besserat de Bellefont Cuvee des Mointes brut Champagne
White - Swartland Private Collection Chenin Blanc (Swartland, South Africa), Bodkin Reserve Sauvignon Blanc (Lake County, South Africa)
Rose - Pratsch Rose Niederusterreich (Austria)
Red - Consonance Bridge Merlot (California), Trapiche Reserve Selected Vineyards Malbec (Argentina)
Dessert - Schloss Gobelsburg Gruner Veltliner Trockenbeerenauslese Niederosterreich (Austria)

The Champagne, Chenin Blanc, and Malbec were all good, and it was interesting to see such a diverse wine list, including changing up the port with the sweet white wine. The Malbec goes really well with the chocolate cookie. The purser and I joked about how, unless you're a German/Austrian speaker, you won't be able to order the dessert wine.
