I can book now for $X, and if the fare drops to a lower price (and I learn about it due to a sale or because I reprice), I can rebook for the lower price and get the difference in wallet credit. Doesn't work with Saver fares, however.
This. When I book a flight, I also set price tracking on Google Flights for the same itinerary. It's pretty uncommon for me to take a flight that hasn't been rebooked to a lower fare at some point.
