Not unless usage can be restricted to some particular area of the plane - the back maybe. I with having better internet connectivity, but people may use this for VOIP to circumvent any cell phone restrictions.
I currently commute on a bus - and while I do use my phone at times (quitely), I can't stand the large number of loud talking cell users. Not only do they share the personal and business lives with people who would rather be sleeping, they can't grasp the concepts of "vibrate" and "silent." I dread the cacophony that will result from allowing the use of cell phones on aircraft.
Has anyone considered the ensuing violence on red-eyes where people might actually try to sleep?
