The NGO area is also known for having a huge Brazilian population, and back in the 90s Varig had a GRU-LAX-NGO route as well as GRU-LAX-NRT. But nowadays I think Japan-Brazil traffic has a higher tendency to go through Europe or the Middle East, if only to avoid having to go through US immigration.

Also worth mentioning that NGO was DL's second destination in Japan, with a short-lived service from PDX back in the late 90s.
