Ah, right OK. I was looking at LHR CAI one-ways and couldn't see how they could cover a fare+supplements+90-odd quid of APD with a sub-£100 ticket

I guess that they are marketing such tickets reflects both the reduced costs of the narrow-body operation and the low level] of demand for the service.

Well, yes: and for that reason the EgyptAir MAN CAI service was a godsend. That disappeared some time ago, and I see they've taken up Dublin to feed the Cairo hub.....

As for Phil and QR: the CAI DOH sectors attracted both (regional) first-class service and TPs, and entry to the rarefied world of QR's Al Sawa lounge: I guess he was happy to write off the extra time spent travelling
