On the way back, I'm doing DXB-MEL then MEL-AKL. So I needed to use the Qantas site, for seat selection the last leg.
But when I look at the seat prefs for EK flights, on the Qantas site, it's only showing me the standard seats (not the preferred ones).
(maybe it's unlocked for you, as you have tiered status)..
EK code share? Is AKL-MEL on a QF aircraft? B737 or A330? Hopefully not on JQ. Am reasonably sure EK does not fly AKL-MEL. EK is due to restart flying SYD-CHC from late March 2023.

With QF mid-top status gives you access to "preferred" seating on QF. Which is just at the front. With QF exit row is not in the preferred seating group.
At T-80 more seat options open up on QF. Including row 4 on the B737 if not already taken. More leg room than the exit rows.
