I've seen previous information saying your 2 free United Club passes that come with the United Explorer card have their own expiration dates and are not tied to your credit card. Meaning you should be able to cancel your card and still have your United Club passes valid until their own expiration dates. Apparently that is no longer true (or never has been?). I downloaded my annual free passes and then a month or so later canceled the card, tried to use my 2 passes and was told since my card was canceled those were canceled also. Maybe just the particular lounge's opinion? (SFO)
