I have just completed a five day trip that ranged from NY cold to beach to wedding finery and heels with my Monos carry on and compression packing cubes. I was able to fit everything that I needed into the Monos. I removed the compression panel from the bag and just used the straps to hold the packing cubes down. Personally I like the Monos compression packing cubes, they have enabled me to go carry on for a week of business travel. I find them sturdy, I can use them in any of my bags and after a brief shake or hang up my clothing looks fine. But they are thicker in the middle when zipped. Kind of like giant ravioli. I just pad the space with other soft items.
The bag performed well, the handle is easy to move and adjust, locks in place without issue. The wheels were great over a variety of surfaces and the bag maneuvered easily. No sticking, no problems. I honestly didn't notice whether I had to pull or push on carpeting as I tend to drag the bag behind me anyway but did sent is wheeling ahead of me on the plane. I did opt to gate check the back at LGA and they did a bit of bait and switch where the "gate check" ended up going on to the baggage claim as opposed to the jet bridge. My bag is taupe and it did arrive looking a bit beat up but...well...they're only new once.
I still like my small(er) Tumi carry on for domestic travel but will likely use my Monos set up the next time I travel internationally.

Mine is the basic carry on, not the pro or plus.
