Anyway what is OP's experience on that? Did you choose your seat and leave the seat of companion empty? And would CX assign seats for your companion near you chosen seat?
I've not flown yet. Have chosen my seat and left companion unassigned. Will post an update on whether CX seats us together once check-in opens
