D1, not D1A. I don't know what the state of D1A is, there is some work going there - the former entrance of D1A security in airside has been converted to a "relax area" of sorts. I have not seen what's happening landside, presumably some work connected to new Terminal A and Pier A.
D1 feeds to the other side of the mezanine from D2, but the stairs feed sort of in the middle so you wouldn't end up in the same line
Didn't think D1A had reopened, but wasn't sure. I think D1 is a separate line if it's busy, but I've gone up there when it's not to find that there's people from D2 being directed all the way along to the D1 end [in that last lane of the tensa which they use for sending you to different scanners]. Hardly a big issue, but of course if your timing is unfortunate you come up in priority just as they've filled the line for the nearest scanners with people from D2. So it might remain to be seen whether they keep separate queues on the mezzanine for priority/Privium and this scheduled security trial [and even normal non-scheduled security, which has also been open at D1 last time I was through].
