Thanks for your interest. Yes, fixed with this route as planning a couple of short stops, then I have a points flight MEL-LHR.
The comparison sites showed a fairly good price for this itinerary with direct flights, but prices swinging up and down. Then yesterday went up GBP400, then today down again - phew!
I just wonder if there is a point - perhaps in the last 3-4days before travel - where flights will definitely only increase, or if the possibility exists of the prices going down too?
Thanks!

- Need to be all in 1 PNR (~ticket)? Or would consider separate tickets?
- Class of travel?
- Earning ff miles/points/avios a consideration?
- Do you have passport/visa/ESTA that allows entry to USA & AU?. Or need to apply?
Wikipedia lists airlines & routes. But may not be up to date.
Example-- SYD--

Flights to/from AU at this time are busy and prices high.
Are other ways to get to AU. Via Asia & the Middle East. The Chinese airlines are getting back into the AU market
