We will be traveling from the U.S. and staying in Tokyo for about a week. My wife and I have been to Tokyo many times, so we aren’t needing to see any touristy spots. Instead we are looking for a relaxing one week trip to get time adjusted and maybe eat some good food. Wife has some ideas of visiting places in Ginza she has seen online, but other than that not much.
This will be our first time traveling internationally with our son, and none of us speak Japanese. I have the Park Hyatt Tokyo booked already for 6 nights, but it seems that it is quite far away from most things. Additionally the lack of a club lounge means that although we may get breakfast in bed we won’t get evening snacks. We are debating whether the Grand Hyatt Tokyo might be better. We are familiar with the Roppongi area and I know there are pretty easy to access malls/restaurants nearby. The kicker for us is that they have a club, where we could ideally bring our son and enjoy both breakfast and evening snacks.
Could anyone comment on the spas? I know my wife wanted to use the Park Hyatt’s club primarily for the spa services, but it seems like there is one also at the Grand Hyatt? Additionally if anyone has thoughts on which hotel might best suit our needs please let us know. Unfortunately the Andaz is booked already for the dates we are seeking. We are globalist by the way, without any upgrade certificates, so we are hoping on a suite if available.
Should we keep the Park Hyatt Tokyo, or switch to Grand Hyatt Tokyo?
Thank you so much!
I just stayed this month at both hotels for a week each with my 1 and 3 year old.
I think you will have more of a chance for an upgrade at the PH but most likely not to a suite,
Breakfast was really nice at the PH with items that you could order from the menu or the Japanese breakfast. Saying that, we preferred having lounge access at the GH over just breakfast at the PH. The food selection was excellent in the lounge and the evening service has a 3 day rotation so you will have a variety of items to choose from during your stay.
