Personally I just buy Prime membership gift at the beginning of every year and be done with it
Purchased $139 Amazon Prime gift membership. Transaction showed up immediately as
Amazon Prime*XXXX WA. Rebate showed up a few days later on subscription dashboard.
The terms don't seem to exclude gift memberships, as it just says "Rebates apply only to full-priced memberships purchased online. Discounted memberships are not eligible for rebates."
