are you confusing making an ex EU cash booking? to save on APD/Taxes etc. with using Avios for a reward flight?
Avois costs are the same for instance from LHR-MAD as they are MAD-LHR, the only difference is the tax. However with RFS, that is fixed so really makes no difference.
Just pick a place you want to go and book.
