Do you know whether calling in makes a difference? As in, can the rep see the availability?

Are there also tricks to using the website? As in, it shows Advantage availability on the top bar, but if you click in it only shows waitlist available.

update: So called in, the rep saw no availability. Including the one that said there was Advantage availability.
Found awards with Aeroplan, didn't show on Krisflyer website nor did the rep see it.
