I picked up the card in mid-October so there's not a lot of history with the card. I spent $15,165 by year end--but that included the $95 AF, which I presume doesn't count toward the total and that for free night purposes I was at $15,070. Then my wife returned a pair of $98 shoes this weekend--hence my $28 shortfall. In retrospect, I should have padded the spend a bit more, which I easily could have done. I've only spent about $200 on the card this year.
