A private bank supposedly crunched the numbers and found the PHL metro area to have one of the lowest propensities for private jet ownership relative to wealth. There's a lot of wealth in PHL but it tends to be old money that doesn't call attention to itself. I found the private jet penetration data across different markets really interesting.

Maybe the same Philadelphia lawyers who don't buy bizjets are also too cheap to pay for first?

(As noted upthread though it makes sense that PHL would punch below its weight when it comes to an airline hub. So much potential corporate O&D demand is between PHL and nearby other metro areas like BAL, NYC, WAS where it's just as easy to take Amtrak or drive. Remember that most business travel tends to be between nearby metro areas.)

As for on-time performance at CLT and PHL, that's pretty easy to do when you pad your block schedules to an absurd degree.

It seems like I usually block in at least 10 minutes early at CLT. Sure, it often takes 25 minutes to taxi in from 18R/36L to the E gates but when the block schedule is built for a 40 minute taxi in you still get in early.

And who doesn't want to go to Bakersfield and Fresno?
