They said they couldn’t book a hotel for me. And that I should book it myself and then file a claim for expenses. I booked a hotel but I wonder what’s it’s the max amount of euros you can book a hotel in this situation (?). Also regarding other expenses like meals, what’s the standard?

As a follow-up, I stayed in a hotel that was 217.65 euros. TAP didn't provide a hotel, so I had to find and book myself. (Hotel was inspira liberdade)
I claimed hotel expenses and to/from hotel in Uber and some food, maybe around 250 euros. TAP did only refund me 133 EUR for expenses + 600 EUR.

Canceled flight was on September 16th, got paid today.

Honestly, if TAP had been better handling this (I mean, being faster with the process, offering miles without hiding how many miles would they give me, or at least booking me a hotel when this happened) I would consider flying TAP again in paid business ticket. Certainly, for our next trips, I don't consider this option again at all.
