Miles that have already been utilised for redemption will not be eligible for extension. If you have made a redemption booking and subsequently cancelled it voluntarily, any refunded miles will follow the date of expiry at the time of booking.
However, I find this absolutely ridiculous and mind-boggling.
Is there any recourse to save my 110k miles?

What is so mind-boggling about this rule? If it wasn't for this rule, there'd be an obvious loophole to extending mileage validity for cheap.
Tickets are valid for a year, so you could push it to a different date.
