I just checked into the royalton riviera cancun and did not get upgraded to the diamond club as i have on my previous 3 stays in the past year at other royalton properties. I questioned why as a titanium i was not upgraded and was informed that royaltons will no longer be upgrading elites to the diamond club. Have been e-mailing the Montego Bay property about this and they said we'll get upgraded to some of the Diamond benefits (lounge and beach bar areas) but no butler. They also said if I want to upgrade to diamond it is $30/person/nt or $75/person/nt for butler. Why would I pay the $30...seems to contradict. Also, the price difference on the website is only like $40/person/nt for Diamond which includes Butler. Makes no sense and makes me just want to cancel our 3 rooms. I could care less about the butler, but would like the ability to easily make dinner reservations, which I have heard is impossible w/o a butler.
