I would say the LHR CCR is significantly more premium, but food quality is indeed similar between both lounges.

As a “lounge”, LGW GF is nicer than Qantas in LAX in my view.
I would rate the fit-out substantially higher in QF's lounges, but the views from the LGW lounge versus those at LAX are hard to beat.

The LHR T5 lounges opened in 2008, whilst the LGW lounges opened in 2017. Whilst the LHR lounges have been partially refurbished a few times over the years, none of these refurbishments were comprehensive, and the dated Galleries concept (as opposed to Galleries Evolution found at LGW) remains.
