I find that when I have gotten a late checkout is when Housekeeping attempts to come in while I have both the DND and the chain/hasp closed. They do knock and call out Housekeeping, but I still have to explain I have late checkout. Last time it happened it turned out the night front desk clerk did not record it, so a little bit after telling the housekeeper we had late checkout we got a phone call from the front desk.
