I took my 85 year old mother to Florida in November, and it was a bit of a mess.

The baggage system was stuck when we arrived and it took close to an hour at J checkin. I ended up walking over and getting a wheelchair for my mother from the holding area after the counter staff said it would take a while to get a porter. I then had to stand in line at oversized baggage for another 30 minutes to checkin her walker. We ended up at the far trans border gates, so no time for the lounge. I pushed her from checkin to gate.

MIA was much better with a chair waiting at the end of the jet bridge for her down to baggage claim.
