When I was a kid living in NYC in the first half of the 60s, my friend once asked me to join him for lunch at a White Castle. I had never eaten at one before but their restaurants were all over the place. Having eaten at lots of McDonald's, I guess I was expecting the same, but I found the burger to be surprisingly better and tastier. That said, I have never eaten at a White Castle since, probably because as a kid my parents made most of the decisions about where we would eat out. However, I just noted a New York Times article with the dateline of Oct 27, 1986 "The White Castle fast-food chain is entering the Japanese market, its first venture outside the United States." I wonder what happened. I guess I missed them. I can't find any reference to White Castle in Japan today. Did anyone ever eat at their burger joints in Japan? https://www.nytimes.com/1986/10/27/b...-in-japan.html
