In the app, I see the +$39.40 charge when I first click through to the checkout page, but after a few seconds it looks to do some processing and it reverts to exactly what you would expect - just points. The "Book now" button is greyed out until the cash fee drops off. Ultimately, it doesn't look like there is a cash portion when you actually book (not that I went through with a booking).
